BS 5839-1 : 2002 Cat. Standard. 300 / 500 V.  A fire resistant, fire retardant and low smoke cable for use in buildings where systems need to remain operational.

Design :

  1. Conductor :  Bare copper, Solid Class 1 (1, 1.5mm2), Stranded Class 2 (2.5 mm2) according to BS 6360 / IEC 60228
  2. Insulation : Silicon rubber to BS 7655
  3. Un-insulated protective conductor : Tinned copper according to BS6360 : same class and cross sectional area as insulated conductor.
  4. Screen : Aluminium / polyester tape with optional polyester tape
  5. Outer sheath : Halogen free polyolefin. colour : red
